Wilbert Lewis Williamson

Star - Wilbert Lewis Williamson, Sr., 80, of Edward Road, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 3, 2015, at New Hope Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Gene Davis officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Williamson was born in Moore County to William Archie and Bertie B. Williamson. He worked in textiles for 34 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Michael Anthony Williamson, Gary Robin Williamson, and half-brother, Bradley Williamson. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Britt Williamson, of the home; son, Wilbert Lewis Williamson, Jr. and wife, Tammy, of Star; granddaughter, Crystal W. Davis, of Star; great-grandchildren, Ashley Davis, Caleb Davis; step-great-grandchildren, Shaun James, David Randall McLeod. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, January 2, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star. Memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, PO Box 434, Star, NC 27356.
