Zella Britt Williams

CANDOR - Zella Britt Williams, 89, died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Baaseiah Family Care Home of Candor, her home for the past ten years. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 1, at Flint Hill Christian Church Cemetery. Mrs. Williams was born in Moore County to Grady and Pearlie Bennett Britt. She had been employed by Gilead, Miss Adventure, and Jeanette Maternities from where she retired. She was a member of Flint Hill Christian Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams was predeceased by her husband, George Ellis Williams; brothers, Leonard, Thurman, Billy, and Pat Britt; and, grandson, Sean Freeman. Surviving are son, George Philip Williams (Carol), of Greensboro; daughters, Barbara Ann Simmons (Carlo), of Candor, Brenda Sue Freeman (Ron), of Mint Hill; brother, Harold Britt, of Elizabeth City; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and, lots of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm, Tuesday, April 1, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
